Buying online when there is no store for miles and miles. Tips and tricks!

Howdy y'all. This is Jeff from Runnergy.com and I have been fitting people from doctor referrals to ultra marathons and triathletes for over 25 years.

And normally I would suggest for you to run to your local running store to get professionally fitted, but as you know at this time that is most likely not doable.

So I am going to try as quickly as possible some tips to purchasing walk/run shoes online as that may be your only option.

Grab some water or sports drinks and let's get running here.

Buy from a known online source that you can trust. Make sure you know the name or ask a fellow runner for a store referral near you. You can also contact me at runnergyemail@gmail.com if you need assistance.
Normally I would say try something new if you wish, but right now I would stick with what works, but if you have had a specific model and it has worked, stick with it for now.
If you are looking for something new or different, stick with the big brands, in other words stick with the safe choices. That would include brands like Brooks, Asics and New Balance. Perhaps Saucony. And would add 361 which is fairly new, but very similar to many of those more known brands. I would add them to this list to be honest.
As for size. Check the inside of your current running/walk shoes. If you can't read the U.S. sizing because the cheap tags get one of the other countries sizes and check the brands size chart. If there is no readable sizing or you starting from scratch I suggest going up a half size if you can wiggle your toes in your regular shoe and a full size if your regular shoes are snug. Also make sure you check the width as well. Maybe try to call the company first and see if they still have active customer service and what the current return situation is and or will be after all of this. Do this before purchasing so you don’t have to back peddle
As for stability or neutral shoes. We’re gonna go super old school here. We're gonna go by arch height. If you can fit your fingers under your arch you have a normal to high arch. You can get a cardboard box and wet your feet and see if you have a high arch that way. I am sure there are videos on these tests to see if you have a high or low arch. Remember FIT is most important not the stability.
Hope that helps. You can reach me at runnergyemail@gmail.com or write me in the comments.Be safe and stay healthy. Thank you!

Well, I hope you all have enjoyed my online shoe shopping tips during this unusual time of COVID-19 Coronavirus making it impossible(for some runners) to shop at your local run/walk shoe shop. Now for online shoe shopping that should be fulfilled by your local Fleet Feet store you can clock here www.fleetfeet.com

Now if your heel slips in the back of the shoe here is a lacing trick that may help lacing lock/loop to help heel slipping is here runners-loop-lacing.html  Thanks for watching and be safe and healthy.

Well, I gotta get running!

It's good to know that you should find an online source you can trust to get shoes from. My husband was telling me last night about how he wants to look into getting flip-flops for when we go on beach/lake trips, and he wants to make sure that he can get the right kind online. I'll make sure to pass these tips along to him as he searches for flip-flops to get online.
