Los Angeles marathon is coming up, are you ready?
Here are some tips to ensure you have a great day on race day!
Tip # 1 If you haven't start breaking in your race day shoes!
Tip #2 Figure out your nutrition and how you're going to stash it on you
Tip #3 Get extra sleep the week leading up to the day
Tip #4 If you go to the expo on Saturday (day before) don't spend too much time on your feet.
Tip # 5 Eat as USUAL prior to race day. Carbo-loading as they call it can be tricky and risky. I suggest you don't do anything NEW!
Tip #6 Stay hydrated with more than just water. You need electrolytes! I prefer "Tailwind" hydration drink
Tip #7 Get your last long run this week at the latest. You want to be well rested and recovered!
Tip #8 Have all your stuff ready the night before including your shoe, apparel, nutritional and of course race bib. ALL READY TO GO RACE MORNING!
Tip #9 Have a plan for after the race for transportation and food.......EAST ASAP!!!
Tip #10 Do not......I repeat DO NOT go out too fast. Stick to your planned paced. If it seems like everyone is flying by you......your doing it correctly! It is hot......go out even slower and hydrate more often.
